Despite its restful comforting name, more than half of Harthshire is dominated by tracts of dreary silent forest, ruins, and poor roads. There is a small but hard-core Lomen population, grimly clinging to their “ancestral homeland” in a bitter struggle against the incursions of farmers, woodchoppers and traders. There are frequent skirmishes around Kirgeminster, Mildenford and Stonebridge, but a lack of inter-town co-operation has contributed to the failure to drive the Lomen back into Forn. The inland parts of Harth are prosperous and agricultural and inclined to ignore the problems faced by the forested regions. The Capital is Harth.
