Not truly one shire, but three, the Upper, Middle and Lower Sallow made up a kingdom of their own not so many centuries ago. The people are still proud, stubborn, and fiercely loyal to their rather pig-headed and foolish leaders. The ancient capital was at Polvenbury in Middle Sallow, and the peasantry of those days were even more downtrodden than usual. The nobles are still very extravagant. The valley of the Sallow is very fertile, with orchards in Upper Sallow, Grain and vegetables north to Hixen, and herding in the sealands. The cult of Shurka is very powerful here, with Sharamis maintaining a high level of popularity. Capitals - Hixen (Low), Gundelrace (Mid) & Sallowmere (High).
