A small archipelago of eight inhabited islands lying approximately 1200 km NW of Cerutan, in the torrid tropical zone; they were annexed by the Empire about a hundred years ago in order to protect the amandelwood trade and have a naval base near to Flilpansnik. The isles are an Imperial territory with a Burseg (a military officer) as governor. In religious matters, it is subject to the Archimandrite of Lhoshad; however, most inhabitants follow the T'sai Lho religion or various kalamen smallgods, and take no notice of the Established Church at all. Formerly, the bulk of the population was Northern Kalamen, with considerable numbers of T'sai Lho forming an educated merchant caste but taking no part in government.
