The third of the Episiarchies of Great Tixryn, Imarxes is divided conveniently into two parts by the great river Malash. West of the Malash, bounded on the west by the Salgur and Nine Bird Hills, is a rolling country centred on the river Im. This was of old an independent Tixryni speaking kingdom, and the people who live there are quite as different from those of Husyfra and Darxes as Lhomishmen. Part of the southern boundary is formed by the Anuran river, along which live many of the mixed-race humans of New Tixryn.
On the eastern bank of the Malash is the land of White Asjhad, which has been a battleground throughout its history- now belonging to the Imarxes, now to Kitaba, next an independent Ephate. It is a low lying and fertile plain inhabited chiefly by Kitaban speaking humans, but also by Kalamen and great numbers of Tixryni speaking humans, both Imlanders and ones from further afield. In many areas the Imlanders are accustomed to be a ruling caste, with extensive landholdings and many slaves of other peoples and species. Most Imlanders and many Asjhadis still believe the Godkings of Imarxes were incarnations of the iarap Veala; the Lhomish rite is less widespread among Asjhadis of Imarxes than their counterparts in Red Asjhad or Husyfra.
