Day of Words Part 2: 11:55 pm
Okay, nothing mroe done on the writing front, making the grand total for two solid days only something like 6000 words. Instead this evening I watched a bootleg copy of Hellboy which I thought was disappointingly slow-paced and an little unengaging for something with beer-swilling demons, clockwork nazis, Cthulhoid horrors and Rasputin (oh, and no points for the so-very-obvious use of Nick Cave's Red Right Hand in the soundtrack).
Since then I've been tinkering with the web page, and have done all sorts of stuff about the Starship Manticore game that Chris, Jimbo and I have been playing the last couple of weeks. Go and click on the RPG link on the left there - there's quite a bit of new material (slowly, one by one, I am eliminating the accursed filler pages bequeathed to me by Evil System Overlord Tarrant and that overeducated mollusc Doctor Clam).
6 smartarse remarks

ironic that the day of words should be followed by the week without... like a free ride, when you've already paid, or summat... you know, wossname.
or perhaps, like the Athens organising committee for the Nigh Upon Us Olympiad, you're so totally focussed on landscaping the final chapters prior to the opening ceremony (& i can only hope the stadium roof is better constructed than the present analogy) that lexifab is of secondary, tertiary or even quaternary importance, & hence, sadly unupdated...
if only there was someone out there with a theory as to the sudden paucity of lexifabricity... andrew? dr clam? anyone?
I can't remember whether I sent him an email prod or not. Better call him.
you know, labelling your comments link with the phrase "smartarse remarks" is kinda just asking for trouble... i mean, certain types of people (yeah, i'm looking at me) tend to take that kinda thing as something of a challenge...
however, given the unexpected lack of recent lexifabrication, i'm wondering (in a completely non-smartarsed way) if everything is alright...? dave, you ok?
I called him last night - he's sick, but not horribly sick, and that was only as of Thursday. Apparently, he's busy at work. For those who care (ie. me) he *has* been working a bit on Bard Wars, and still hopes to finish on time.
sick?!? waaaaah!
[sends bizarro psychic waves]
that am good! get sicker & not finish book just like plan, dave! bizarro doctor psychically imprison fingers in big plaster casts to help typing! also, bizarro doctor send bizarro psychic medical treatment of extra chills & no eating vegetables for perfect health! now bizarro doctor will keep typing comment forever! hello!
I am back, albeit in phlegm form. Have made token effort that has somehow resulted in another completed chapter. Am desperately trying to weave dangling plotlines into semi-coherent though indecently rushed ending. Feel belatedly that I may have allowed a few too many characters to survive past their use-by dates. May need to plan sequels - am considering Tolkeinisation of novel, may need to add dragons and cast Orlando Bloom as Nana. Comments welcome.
